Obituary for Terry Paul Bower

Terry Paul Bower age 78 of Harrison passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, February 28, 2022. Terry was born December 13, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan the son of Henry Joseph Bower and Delilah M. (Jenkins) Bower. Terry graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, Michigan in 1968. Mr. Bower was united in marriage to Ms. Mary E. Parker on May 25, 1973 in Clare, Michigan. Terry has resided in Harrison since 1976, moving from Clare.
Terry was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison for many years. Terry dedicated spent over fifty-five years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Operating Engineers Local 324. After retirement, he enjoyed visiting various casinos throughout Michigan, hunting and fishing with his son in law, John and spending countless hours with his grandchildren, making many fond memories.
Surviving Mr. Bower is his loving wife and best friend of forty-eight years, Mrs. Mary E. Bower of Harrison, his loving daughters, Lanette Tagliamonte and husband John of Harrison, Tammy White and partner Aaron Cornell of Idaho, five grandchildren; Joshua Gruno and wife Destiny, Erik Gruno, Ashley Dawson and husband James, Aaron White and wife Clarissa and Adriana White, eight great-grandchildren; Gavin Gruno, Jase Gruno, Daniel Gruno, Maci Gruno, Jerzy Gruno, Parker Gruno, Amelia Dawson and Kiana White, his twin brother, Gary Bower and wife Linda of Mt. Pleasant and his older brother, Anthony Bower and wife Pat of Florida, two brothers- in-law; Chuck Parker and wife Kathy of China, Michigan and Mike Parker and wife Carolyn also of China, MI, many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends, Jerry Stevens and wife Stephanie of Harrison. Mr. Bower was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Jewell (Gerhardt) Parker, his son, Ralph Paul Bower, one brother, Dan Bower, three sisters; Bonnie (Hurly) Kampf, Ruth Bower and Vergeline Owen, one sister-in-law, Catherine Parker and a niece, Cindy Pegg. Special friend Aaron Cornell of Idaho.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Terry will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 310 S. Broad Street, Harrison, with Rev. Father J. Marcel Portelli officiating. Visitation will take place Monday, March 7, 2022 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison. Burial will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Harrison.
