Obituary for Richard Frank "Rich" Leszcz
Richard “Rich” Frank Leszcz age 77 of Farwell, Michigan passed Monday, November 7, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center-Alma. Richard was born February 18, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Francis Leszcz and Catherine (Wiercioch) Leszcz. Mr. Leszcz graduated from Western High School, Detroit, Michigan in 1963. Soon after his graduation, Richard enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country. On September 19, 1970, Rich was united in marriage to Ms. Linda Louise Gogel in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Leszcz was employed with Waste Management for 28 years.
Surviving Mr. Leszcz is his loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Linda L. Leszcz of Farwell, his two sons: Christopher Leszcz and wife Amy of Evansville, Indiana and Kevin Leszcz and wife Staci of Sterling Heights, Michigan, two grandchildren: Lawrence Leszcz and Anna Leszcz, three siblings: James Leszcz and wife Diana of Fenton, Missouri, Sandra Donnelly and husband Robert of Novi, Michigan and Thomas Leszcz and wife Therese of Commerce Township, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Leszcz was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Brian Richard Leszcz, one sister, Patricia Stone and one brother-in-law, Fred Stone.
A funeral mass for Richard will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia Site in Clare, 106 E. Wheaton Avenue, Clare, Michigan 48617, at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 with Monsignor Francis Koper officiating. Inurnment and Military Honors will follow in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery, Clare. Memorial gifts in memory of Richard may be considered to the Leszcz Family, in care of: Linda Leszcz.
