Obituary for Ralph Eugene Fritzinger
Ralph Eugene Fritzinger age 87 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at The Horizons Senior Living VI of Gladwin, Michigan. Ralph was born April 26, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Ralph Franklin Fritzinger and Violet (Alley) Fritzinger. Mr. Fritzinger honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Ralph was united in marriage to Ms. Dorothy L. Lundahl on September 24, 1954 in Detroit.
• Ralph received a structural engineer degree from Wayne State University.
• He worked for Chrysler on NASA rocket projects and also was part of the DeLorean car door design (seen in Back to the Future movies.)
• He designed and built his triple A-frame home in Harrison as well as his cottage in the UP.
• He commuted back and forth to Detroit for his job, so his family could enjoy the relaxation of the North.
• In his spare time, he enjoyed birding in all 50 states and several continents, vacationing in the UP, giving famous head rubs, and training chipmunks to eat out of his hands.
• He was an avid hunter, making several trips to Montana to hunt Elk.
• He was a member of American Birding Association.
• He founded Mid-Michigan Computer Service Company, a pharmacy computer software solution.
• He was active in many local clubs and associations.
Mr. Fritzinger’s loving family includes his wife of Sixty-Seven years, Mrs. Dorothy L. Fritzinger of Harrison, his four children: Lois Billingsley and husband Danny of Largo, Florida, Lisa Lundahl of Midland, Michigan, Lee Fritzinger and wife Jenny of Harrison and Lynne Witt and husband James of Lenoir City, Tennessee, nine grandchildren: Amy Matthews and husband Jason, Kristen Puckett, Kathryn Kettler and husband Douglas, Alexander Lundahl, Rachel Peterson and husband Matthew, Andrew Lundahl, Bryan Joseph Lundahl, Jessica Hajek and husband Justin, and Kyle Fritzinger, seven great-grandchildren: Ryan Puckett, Ethan Puckett, Jenna Puckett, Harrison Kettler, Olivia Peterson, Alexis Peterson, and Harley Rose Hajek, plus many extended family and friends. Mr. Fritzinger was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Alexander Lundahl.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Fritzinger will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service Inc., 165 W. Oak St., Harrison, with Mr. Benjamen Evers officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to gather for a time of sharing on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
