JOHN LAVERN SHELDON
MARCH 9, 1947 – FEBRUARY 23, 2022
John LaVern Sheldon age 74 of Harrison passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. John was born March 9, 1947 in Owosso, Michigan the son of Milton Herbert Sheldon and Mabel (Wickwire) Sheldon. John graduated from Owosso High School, Owosso in 1965. Mr. Sheldon honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John was united in marriage to Ms. Phyllis Christiane Sharp on February 2, 1974, at First Congregational Church, Harrison. John had worked over thirty years as a Laborer with the pipeline industry. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his lawn tractor, working on anything mechanical, watching old western movies, reality television shows, loving on his grandchildren and his fur babies.
Surviving Mr. Sheldon is his loving wife and best friend of forty-eight years, Mrs. Christiane Sheldon of Harrison, three children; Mike Sheldon and wife Shannon of Harrison, Cory Sheldon and wife Lynnette of Harrison and Faye Wallace also of Harrison, six grandchildren; Isabel Sheldon, Cory Sheldon, David Wallace, Ethan Wallace, Katie Sheldon and Leah Wallace, his mother in law, Paulette Sharp of Harrison, one sister in law, Connie Cummings of Burton, Michigan, one brother in law, Eugene “Skeet” Sharp and wife Julie of Harrison, plus numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and his beloved pets; Nugget, Snowball, Dora and Sparky. Mr. Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Shane Sheldon and one son in law, Dave Wallace.
Celebration of Life services and military honors will be held at the Sheldon family home later this summer.
