Obituary for Janice Susan Coburn (LaBelle)
Janice Susan Coburn age 69 of Harrison passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Janice was born December 9, 1952 in Trenton, Michigan the daughter of Peter Joseph LaBelle Jr. and Leona Lucille (Winton) LaBelle. Janice graduated from Oscar A. Carlson High School in 1971. She continued her education and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification in 1980, from Henry Ford Hospital Practical Nursing Program. Janice had resided in Harrison since 1988, moving from Pittsford, Michigan.
Janice served as an LPN for over 38 years, serving as a private duty nurse for the same client for 31 years. Janice enjoyed scrapbooking, paper crafting, floral gardening, baking her famous magic cookie bars and buckeye candies. Janice was an avid Green Bay Packers football fan as well as all of the University of Michigan sports fan. She was passionate about time spent with her grandchildren and family, always concerned about their lives and how they were doing. Spoiling each of them was her goal in life.
Surviving Ms. Coburn are her two loving children: Dameon Metzger and wife Jennifer of Gaylord, Michigan and Hope Young and husband Doug of Harrison, four grandchildren: Carley Young, Dylan Metzger, Nathan Young and Wyatt Metzger, one sister, Tammie Spanke and her partner, Bill Sickmiller of West Branch, Michigan, one brother, Peter LaBelle III and wife Val of Clinton Township, Michigan, one niece, Cierra LaBelle and one nephew, Conar LaBelle. Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of life gathering and luncheon in honor of Janice will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at John J. Carton #436 F. & A.M., 230 East Main Street, Harrison, Mi. 48625. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Janice may be considered to: Janice S. LaBelle Memorial Scholarship Fund.
