Obituary for Gregory Scott "Big Cooler" Roy Sr.

Gregory Scott "Big Cooler" Roy. Sr., age 63, of Harrison passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.

Funeral Services for Greg will be held at Brown Corners Church on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Sheriff John Wilson officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at The Tamarack Golf Course. The family will receive friends at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hornet's Sports Boosters. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church.

Greg was born on March 12, 1959, in Saginaw, son of Del and Kathleen (Fedewa) Roy. He married Deborah Paulson in 1984. Greg received his welding certificate from Mid Michigan College. He worked for Morbark for close to 40 years. Greg was an avid golfer and found a second home at the Tamaracks. He enjoyed being on the water and spending his time surrounded by his grandchildren and dogs. He loved being outdoors, whether it be enjoying hunting, fishing, or a cold Natty Light. Being an avid sports fan, he bled blue and gold for his Harrison Hornets and the University of Michigan, and enjoyed running the sports boosters for over 12 years. He never missed a sporting event for his children and continued to follow Harrison athletics. Greg always had old westerns on repeat on tv, was an amazing wood worker, and took pride in his landscaping.

Greg is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Salena (Luke) Hamilton, Karley Roy, and Gregory (Leah) Roy; grandchildren, Brenden, Jaynie, Adelaide, and Willa; siblings, Diane Roy-Russell and Rick (Marcia) Roy; loving dog, Sadie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Yvonne, Chuck, and Bob.
